Copaiba, is an evergreen tree in the legume family. It is native to tropical South America and is also distributed in South Africa. It can grow up to 15-30 meters high and is a lush tree with white cone-shaped inflorescences. When the trunk is cut, oily resin flows out.
A Copaiba tree produces about 40 liters of resin annually, and Copaiba essential oil is extracted from resin distillation. For hundreds of years, indigenous peoples in northern Brazil have used Copaiba for daily maintenance.
The aroma of Copaiba is relatively calm, mild and sweet, accompanied by a hint of woody fragrance, which is quite easy to get close to and is also suitable for blending with other essential oils.
