Lemon verbena, also known as Louisa, is a plant of the verbena family, native to western South America and introduced to Europe in the late 17th century. It prefers dry heat and is afraid of cold. Leaves will fall at zero degrees Celsius, and the citral content harvested in the afternoon is high. When flowering, the leaves are strong and fragrant. Lemon verbena essential oil is extracted from the leaves of its plant through distillation process. It is a bright yellow transparent liquid with a very fresh lemon flavor, fresh and slightly floral, elegant and delicate, and very pleasant to smell.
