Patchouli, also known as "patchouli", is a perennial aromatic herb or semi shrub in the family Lamiaceae. It is mostly distributed in tropical Southeast Asia, such as Indonesia, and likes to grow in humid and warm areas, which is very labor-intensive. Its green oval leaves are wide and rough, and have many uses. Patchouli essential oil is distilled from the whole plant, and has a dull fragrance. The longer the essential oil is stored, the deeper the odor and the better the quality. Moreover, the color of the essential oil will gradually change from a light yellow liquid to a viscous amber color over time.
