Turmeric, also known as Baoding Xiang, Mao Turmeric, etc., belongs to the ginger family and is a perennial herbaceous plant. Its rhizomes are well-developed, and the plant can reach a height of about 1.5 meters. It prefers a growing environment with abundant rainfall and temperatures between 20 ℃ and 30 ℃. The rhizomes are cut open and turn orange yellow. Turmeric essential oil is extracted from the roots and stems of plants through distillation process. It is a deep red liquid with a curry like smell. Turmeric belongs to sesquiterpene ketone essential oils, and its main component is turmeric brass (about 33-60%).
